European Cluster Matchmaking event - Bridging between green and digital clusters

Welcome to

European Cluster Matchmaking event - Bridging between green and digital clusters towards twin transition

Targeted 1:1 meetings promises knowledge gain and new business contacts.

In the European Union, discussion and actions on strengthening the links between digitalisation and the environment have gained momentum in recent years. The European Commission has been pursuing related activities especially in the context of the European Green Deal, the Digital Strategy and the Updated Industrial Strategy for Europe that supports the twin transition to green and digital economy.

A particular objective is also to exploit and reinforce the synergies that lie between the digital and the green transformation. An appropriate use of digital networks, technologies and applications (green and digital solutions) for promoting the green transition can give us environmental and climate benefits and transform the European Union into an innovative, sustainable and resilient society and economy.

Clusters and their members pursuing sustainability and digitalisation are likely to be among tomorrow’s leaders. Around 250 green and 400 digital clusters are registered on the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP). Clusters are also well placed to connect these two areas and facilitate business cooperation for the development and uptake of digital solutions that respect and protect the environment.

To support EU green and digital clusters, the objectives of this cluster matchmaking event are to:

  • fully use the potential of green tech and digital clusters by learning about others’ assets and market potential;
  • induce cooperation between them to use synergies between green and digital transformation activities;
  • promote joint activities and partnering for the development of digital solutions that support the green transition, and
  • bridge the gaps green-tech and digital clusters face when developing and adopting green technologies.
